Interview with SuperDave, and other updates

Hello! Wow, amazingly I have the time to do a post or two here and there! Things have been a lot less busy in a way since I finished the demo for Bru & Boegie: Episode 2. That really was a HEAP of work. I’ve been making much smaller games since then, and am getting close to finishing a little 1bit metroidvania-ish game which I plan to release for free when it’s done. I work almost every day when it’s possible – we’ve had quite a lot of house stuff done, a wall rebuilt, new window and door put in, solar… that was a busy time. Managing to touch some grass, play padel and a bit of golf, the toll of ‘nose-to-the-grindstone’ of years prior, I still feel it and that energetic bill of borrowing from the future is being paid now.

I’m enjoying married life, my wife is amazing, we celebrated our 1-year anniversary recently, she’s been a huge blessing in my life. ❤️

Ok, well after that tangent, I’m pleased to present this interview with SuperDave from ‘The Idiots Guide to Gaming’ and his podcast is called ‘Gaming In My Mama’s House’. It’s a long one, and regrettably about midway through / towards the end I got a frog in my throat and made a bunch of weird throat sounds trying to clear it – I hardly ever talk so much, lol. We talked about animation, the importance of Moms 💯, and some highlights and low-lights from my career, and then later segue into gaming. Unfortunately the video recording didn’t save so we just have the audio, but at least there’s the audio.

In other news, I wrote a post on the Steam page for the Bru & Boegie game, just to keep players abreast of what’s been happening. That’s here:

Aaand, yes, that’s about it! I’m hopefully completing a freelance animation project this week, and then move back to focusing on the Bru & Boegie games. I have a Russian and an Italian translation of the first game to implement, nice!

Also strangely my site is getting a LOT of traffic from China – not sure if it’s people finding their way to my site from the first Bru & Boegie game since there’s a Chinese translation, or if it’s AI bots crawling through my site for who knows what reason.
